Myrtleford Show

The Myrtleford Show is a much-loved annual event that brings the community together to celebrate local agriculture, produce, and rural traditions. Held each October at the Myrtleford Showgrounds, it’s the only agricultural show in Victoria’s Alpine Shire and has been running since 1947. With its welcoming, country-town atmosphere, the show highlights everything from cattle and horse competitions to home-grown veggies, preserves, arts and crafts.
A major drawcard is the lively mix of entertainment and attractions for all ages. Visitors can enjoy traditional favourites like woodchopping events, poultry displays, working dog demonstrations, whip-cracking, and a bustling petting zoo. The pavilions feature beautifully presented cakes, flowers, crafts, and farm produce, while side-show alley, carnival rides, and showbags keep the younger crowd entertained. The show concludes with live music, food trucks, and a dazzling fireworks display, creating a real festival vibe.
Over the past few years, the Myrtleford Show has undergone a refresh, with improvements to pavilions, upgraded animal sheds, and new facilities to make the event even more enjoyable. Online entries have streamlined participation for exhibitors, making it easier than ever to be involved. Ticket prices are affordable, and there are options for families, concessions, and early online purchase.
More than just a fun day out, the Myrtleford Show is a celebration of the region’s agricultural roots and vibrant community spirit. Whether you’re a local, a first-time visitor, or just passing through Victoria’s High Country, it’s a memorable day filled with tradition, talent, and country charm.
