Make sure you contact them before you set off as not all are open every day. The best days to visit are generally late in the week or on weekends. This tour will take you a full day and you can start from anywhere in the loop. You will find the creators are friendly, informative, and they don’t mind sharing their tips and techniques. Lisa Bishop - Chiltern

Lisa’s inspiration comes from the beautiful nature that surrounds her local area. The love of colour and fun runs through all of Lisa’s art and sculpture. She has a pure passion for creating things that inspire happiness and create feelings of love for flora and fauna, fun and a little touch of childhood whimsy. This quirky lively and very unique working studio and art store/gallery is packed with a diverse range of art that will appeal to just about everyone.

In historic Yackandandah, Feather & Drum Hat Co. revives the craft of hat-making, specializing in custom, made-to-order felt hats, handcrafted on-site. Feather & Drum combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary style, creating hats as unique as you.

Whipps Designs - Mt Beauty

Michael designs and creates one-off custom firepits, sculptures, furniture and art from steel, timber and concrete. He is a skilled craftsman and fabricator that has the ability to translate his client’s ideas into magnificent works of art that are not only practical and functional, but they become the show piece for a garden setting or backyard. Michael’s firepit featured on the TV series The Block in 2017 for contestants Sticks and Wombat. He says the only limitation is your imagination.

Mountainside - Mt Beauty

Charlie Brown has had extensive professional photographic experience both here and overseas. He has shot images for Falls Creek ski resort for 19 years and has had his images published in wine and food publications. Charlie runs fun and informative photographic workshops in the Victorian High Country and enjoys catching all the action with his camera on the slopes both skiing and hiking or in the bush capturing the mountain bikes.

Bright Art Gallery - Bright

The Bright Art Gallery is a community owned gallery run entirely by volunteers. It is a great place to view many alpine artists’ works including Thomas Lawler, Brian Elvish and Tom Bradbury. Every season there is an exhibition held in the gallery but the premier event on the calendar is the Autumn Art Show. This event coincides with the Bright Autumn Festival and attracts over 800 entries from all over the country. It is a must for art lovers of all ages.

Alpine Light GALLERY - Bright

Alpine Light Gallery is the home of works from award-winning landscape photographers Mieke Boynton and Matt Palmer. Mieke is a specialist landscape and aerial photographer. Her distinct abstracts are taken from flying over some of the most remote and facinating areas of the world celebrating the breath-taking beauty of nature. Matt has extensive experience in multiple genres of photography and is passionate about story-telling through imagery. This is a must see when in Bright.

Myrtleford Gallery - Myrtleford

When you walk into this gallery you will be greeted by Jim Van Geet. Jim says “Artists should paint in a manner and style that expresses and satisfies their feelings. They should be guided by their natural aesthetic inclinations for it is then that they produce their best works”. The gallery boasts a wide variety of works from many Australian artists including Jim himself. Barwidgee Country Trader

A life spent working on the land, together with an inclination to make and create, has led Ian and Lynette to develop their business at Barwidgee. Ian has applied his passion to create and repair to a variety of mediums including steel, timber, rope and wire with much of his time now spent making custom orders. Ian and Lynette don’t follow seasonal cycles that come and go - they take pride in making successful products that have extremely long life cycles. Call in and check out their unique pieces.
